WAVES AND BREAKERS
God has put eternity in the hearts of all people. (Eccl 3:11) He has also hidden ‘all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge’ in Christ. (Col 2:3) The deepest things of God are childlike, it is true. But most childlike truths are beyond words.
In the Scriptures God not only gives us truth we can access with our minds, but truth that our minds must yield to our spirits, our hearts. Jesus himself was not a written word, but the ‘Living Word’, and he said he desired worshippers (not thinkers) who would worship in ‘spirit and truth’. (John 4:24)
‘Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me.’ (Psalm 42:7)
